Forget the Mammoth Caves, this is how spelunking is supposed to be done. Find a hole in the ground which you suspect leads to caverns, gear up, and rappel down!
This is one of our many excursions into the Kentucky area to do spelunking, swimming, climbing, camping, and whatever else we can think of!

Since these humble caving beginnings, I've had the pleasure of exploring many caves. Both commercial caves, as well as known and previously unknown caves. It's been a great experience, and I've met many competent and friendly cavers. There are certainly some beautiful formations. Make sure if you are going to explore unknown areas, that you are prepared for the worst. At the very least, the ten essentialls; which includes a compass, as well as an extra flashlight with extra batteries.
