Snowboarding

Like many boarders, my roots are in snow skiing.  I saw the new sport emerge, and decided to rent one and try it.  It turned out to be the most painful experience I have ever gone through.  I learned on the icy hills of Michigan.  I can still remember my tailbone being in intense pain from slamming into the ground while learning.  Since then, I have gotten the hang of the sport and really enjoy it. I am by no means ESPN extreme games material, but I can handle my own.  I was boarding mostly in Michigan, and now in Colorado since I've moved there.  I have also boarded out in California, France, Switzerland, Germany, New Zealand, Canada and more.

One of my most memorable trips was to Snowmass in Colorado. The night before my little brother and I went snowboarding, we got 12 inches of fresh powder. The snow was so deep and soft, we were dropping of 10-15 foot ledges and pulling tricks; including attempting backflips. Most of the time we wiped out, but there was no detriment except for a severe whitewash.

Here is a picture of me learning to fly in Michigan.
