What else needs to be said? What a rush.
If you are one of the people who shudders at the thought of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, might as well click your back button now.
Why do it?
Unless you try it, you will never know. This is one of the things that I have done that I just cannot describe in words. In my opinion, it is THE most exciting sport around. You will either love it or hate it - I have never met anyone that said it was just "okay."
Personally, I love the feeling of the freefall. I have many jumps, but haven't yet got my class A license. I'd love to get back into it, especially to get my license, and my own parachute so I could do some base jumping.
Here is a picture of me doing my first jump, a static line jump in Michigan.

I am one of the weird people that would love the opportunity to do a H.A.L.O. jump. (High Altitude Low Opening jump, possibly from a jetliner.)
If you are interested in trying skydiving, and do not think you will have the time (or desire) to do it on a regular basis, you can opt for a tandem jump. An instructor will be clipped onto your harness and both of you will jump at the same time (usually from about 11,000 feet). This is a great way to get the free fall experience on the first jump. It is a bit more expensive than doing it solo, but you normally need at least five solo jumps before you get to do a freefall jump. Even then, the first solo free fall jumps are for very short distances. It takes about ten jumps to get to a decent height for a freefall. Enjoy!
