I love to ride bikes. I used to ride a ten speed everywhere (didn't we all when we were too young to drive?) Although, I meant even after I was old enough to drive... I switched to mountain biking over twenty years ago and absolutely love it. It is a great workout and you can usually see some great scenery. I have done some great riding all over the world; Tennessee, Kentucky, Colorado, Utah, California, Switzerland, Germany, Taiwan, New Zealand, and many more. I would have to say Moab, Utah was the best ride so far. The Slickrock trail has a sandstone composition that gives you unreal traction which enables you to hit some insane angles and tricks. There are tons of trails (and lots of off-trail opportunities) near Moab. Before you ride, make sure mountain bike, make sure it's allowed. Many park trails are off limits to bikes for reasons of safety for yourself, others, or for the safety of the environment and agriculture. There are plenty of other great places to ride though. Here we are biking in the Amazon... (It's actually in the States, but I love that photo. Looks so exotic!)

If you bike as aggressively as we do, make sure you try to impact the environment as little as possible. Try to avoid riding after rains where the trails are muddy. It does serious damage to the trails. That's one of the great things about the slickrock riding, you don't have to worry about the weather (although, the slickrock is called that for a reason - it gets pretty slick when it's wet...)
