Wednesday 9/16:
Just wanted to get out for some exercise. Headed up to do a couple of free solo laps on the second flatiron. There was a climbing race going on as well; so I saw Tony and Seth up on the first flat - they were helping with the race. Decided I'd pop over to the first flat too. Free soloed a new line for me around the Fandango area (to stay out of the racers' way.) Watched a few speed climbers come through. Wild stuff. Continued my climb by downclimbing from the summit of the first and added one more loop on the second. Since I was trying to move quickly myself, and since there are already plenty of recent flatiron climb pics (see 7/21 and 8/1 and 8/27), I didn't take any pictures while climbing.
Didn't do too bad on timing; got all the above done in just under 4 hours car to car. Nowhere near the insane athletes that were doing the speed climbing though, who were more like one hour for several routes up the flatirons car to car. Wild.
On the hike back, I took a game trail; and ran into some of the game that made the trail. Got a couple nice shots of a buck...
