Sunday 5/3:

We were planning on hiking to Sacred Cliffs.  Paul had picked up a permit, and eight of us started the hike up.  I was really looking forward to this hike as I've wanted to check out the climbing routes on the Sacred Cliffs.  They aren't done all that often, likely because of the large approach.  On the hike up, I commented that it was interesting that the Sacred Cliffs weren't closed due to raptor nesting like many of the climbing areas.  Paul had checked on closures, and was even issued a permit.

We capped over Green Mountain, and got to the cutover for Sacred Cliffs,  Sure enough, there was a sign strung by cable saying that the area was closed due to raptor nesting.  Too funny.  Paul was a little disappointed; why did they issue him a permit if the area was closed?  No worries though; it was still a great hike; up a couple trails I don't do all that often (Ranger, Greenman.)  We had lunch with some great views, and then headed down the Green Bear trail to Bear canyon, and then took the Mesa trail back to the car.  A nice loop, and done in around 3 hours and 45 minutes.  A good little workout, and still had time to work on my house when I got home.

Hope you enjoy the pics!
