Sunday 11/09:

The Rocky Mountain Rescue (RMR) group does quite a few practices throughout the year.  This one was to get folks more familiar with the flatirons; where rescues have happened, standard evac routes, etc.  We broke into two groups.  Our group; which included all the prospective members, worked on a litter scenario and all the knots involved with it.  Pretty informative and neat to set up.  The second crew did a practice rescue off the second flatiron.  We then joined up with them for the rescue after they were done with the vertical section.

Here are a couple photos which show a sequence in the vertical rescue.  You can see the litter being lowered, with ropes at the head and the foot of the litter as well as a litter attendant at the head and the foot.  Sometimes, the rock might be vertical or even overhung, so you aren't even touching the wall.  This is why the anchors need to be bomber...

Hope you enjoy the pics!
