More canyoneering friends were coming in to visit; this time Colin and Shannon from San Francisco. They hadn't done any class C canyoneering before either, so we headed out to Dream Canyon yet again. Marty and his son Derek were going to join us too; so there were five of us total.
We met up at 11:45am at the Boulder Falls parking lot; and went over signals, distributed gear, etc. We were going to climb up it from the bottom, so everyone could get some canyon experience on the way up. I was debating on bringing a wetsuit since it wasn't really necessary the past couple of trips. Brought it anyway, better safe than sorry. Glad I did too; the water was colder than the previous three trips down.
We started up around noon and upclimbed past the normal drop in point. Turned around at 1:45pm, put on the wetsuits, and started back down. Gave some water pointers on the way down, and we practiced some good partner assists. Everyone did great; including Derek who had a little higher of a water level than the rest of us. We played around at a couple spots trying different upclimbs and downclimbs; and ended up at the final rappel around 3:45pm. The water level was lower than two weeks ago; and it was a great time to do the canyon.
We finished the final rappel through Boulder falls with a group of gawking tourists, and were back at the car around 4:30pm. What a great little canyon; always a good time. Thanks to all!
